We got a call on December 23rd from a young woman who wanted to do something nice for a family friend on Christmas Eve. She said the man had done something very nice for her years ago and she wanted to surprise him on his birthday, December 24th. She was calling from Costa Rica but her friend was in Vancouver. She had arranged for a bakery to make two special cakes for the man and needed us to bring them to a restaurant at the end of his meal for a surprise desert. She insisted the gift be presented unnamed and asked us to include a message. This message, “Thank you for the giraffe,” was left unexplained.
